Celebrating Love

February is just around the corner... and of course, so is Valentine's Day! I don't celebrate a lot of traditional holidays, but always adore celebrating LOVE. Although this day has become extremely commercial with the prices of flowers, sweets and dinner dates sky rocketing... I do know it can be a joyous day.

So what if you don't have someone to gift to or receive from? This is where these holidays get awkward for many. Or, maybe you have someone who doesn't like to gift or receive, making you feel unloved?

The thing is... it's really all about your own point of view on the subject. What about the gift of self love? What about gifting and loving yourself instead of feeling the lack of love? I know, it would be so much better if you had someone to love, right? Well, you know what? That all depends. Some people are experiencing very loveless relationships. So don't go throwing your chicks all in one basket. What else could be possible?

I've spent Valentine's Day alone and lived through it. I decided that day to paint, which is one of my passions. So why not engage one of your passions on this day and celebrate you? After all, this day IS PASSION. What do you LOVE doing? Baking? Laying in bed reading? Taking a long bath? Maybe go and buy yourself some flowers? Watch a good chick flick!

The thing is... you get to decide what this day is all about. What else is possible for this day that brings you to a place of joy? It's just a choice?
