How long does it take for thoughts to manifest into form?

What a magnificent question... How long does it take for thoughts to manifest into form?

As a Law of Attraction Coach, Workshop and TeleSummit Facilitator, I've been asked this question more than any other question. How long does it take? Why hasn't my stuff shown up yet? Will it ever show up? We are so impatient.

So what I usually ask in response is, "Before you had the knowledge that thought became form, and that you ask and the universe delivers... how long did you wait?" Of course, this brings on a myriad of excuses, stories and details, all of which defend and support their not knowing. I mean, it couldn't work before because they didn't know it COULD be possible. Right? Interesting though that those who ask also say they understand the idea that Law of Attraction exists with or without their knowing.

Ladies and gentlemen... you've got to get real with yourself! That's the first thing. This is not an organized religion where you are told what to do, you do what the leader says and except the idea that you will be given access to Heaven, although some would like to pretend that it is. The law of attraction simply is. Like gravity. So the key is to do your best to challenge your beliefs and play with it and make it work in your favour. We as a species play with gravity and use it to our advantage all the time... so what makes this any different? Once we figured out how to fly, do you think everyone trusted it? Even today there are those who will do everything in their power to avoid flying. The thing is... you have to really DESIRE your life to show up differently, literally make that demand, and not know HOW, or all the details of how it's going to look when it does show up differently.

If I was to put a seed in the soil and ask you to tell me what is possible for that seed, what might you come up with?

  • That is grows into a tree of some sort
  • That it grows into a vegetable of some sort
  • That is grows into a flower of some sort
  • That it grows and is eaten by a gopher
  • That it grows and is the largest tree in an empty field where children come to play on it
  • That it grows and someone cuts it down and uses it as a Christmas tree
  • That it grows and it cut down and used for fire wood
  • That it begins to grow and then dies due to lack of water
  • That it begins to grow, then someone pulls it out of the ground because they don't want it there
  • That it begins to grow and is eaten by a cow
  • That it begins to grow and then is plowed down into the field
  • That it doesn't grow at all
Do you see how many possibilities there are? And I could have gone on and on.

A thought is much like that. It has a life of it's own. You think a thought, you decide to pay more attention to it and play with the idea of it being more than just a thought... and then you start to micromanage it like all the possibilities of the seed. You define it in detail so it shows up the way you want it to. What you can't comprehend though is that every single one of these possibilities is possible. Each is set in motion and influences the whole universe with it's possibility. But when you plant a seed, you just put it in the ground and hope it grows. You don't think about all the possibilities for the seed. You may water it to help it along, but you don't place any big expectation on it. Even if it is going to provide food for you, you just plant it, water it and know that what happens... happens.

So the question really is, "Why do we insist on micromanaging the thoughts we want to take form?" Is it because we really only desire the end result? Which can happen if it is really what we are able to handle... with emphasis on the word "handle." So truth... what can you HANDLE? How do you know what you can handle? What if you thought "I want to live in a mansion" and POOF, there was a mansion for you to live in. Would it be perfect? Better yet, would you accept it exactly as it is? Or would you stand there and poof a different driveway, poof different surroundings, poof a different location, poof different furniture, poof, poof, poof? When does all the poofing stop? Can you handle that? Instant poof? What about the journey getting to the poof? What about house hunting, shopping for just the right furniture, paint colors, neighborhood, and all of the sensations to the end result along the way? Guess they aren't important huh?

How long do you want the experience to last? How fast do you want to understand the truth of what is going on? Caroline Myss taught me that those are the exact same question. And to give you one last goodie... The extent that you want the depth of the truth, is the extent to which you engage the speed that the experience will last.

Mind-Blowing stuff!
